The footprint of our technologies on Mars!

Did you watch the Perseverance Explorer land on Mars? The Thales laser landed with him!

On February 18, 2021, at 10 pm (CET), NASA's robotic explorer Perseverance landed successfully on Mars. One of the seven strategic on-board instruments is the SuperCam, which is a combination of technologies designed for the analysis, characterization and selection of rock samples. Thales supplied a high-power laser for this device, which is a key part of the mast unit. The Thales laser at the heart of the SuperCam, which is even more powerful than the laser that has been operating on the Curiosity mission for the past eight years, will help search for potential signs of life on Mars.

For more than 35 years, Thales has been a world leader in the design, development and manufacture of high-energy nanosecond lasers for industrial applications and the most powerful ultra-short Ti:Sa laser systems for leading scientific applications with a maximum output of up to 10 petawatts.

We are proud to be Thales silver partner for 2021, giving us exclusive access to all the resources and benefits that Thales provides to its partners. We can offer our customers state-of-the-art Thales cyber security solutions in the areas of encryption, key management and multifactor authentication.
